Short Bio

                Marcelo Hazin Alencar is an Assistant Professor in the Management Engineering Department at Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). He was Director of the Post-Graduate Program of Management Engineering at UFPE – Caruaru Campus (2012-2016). He holds a Civil Engineering degree and was awarded a Master’s and a PhD degree in Management Engineering from UFPE, Brazil. His research interest includes topics such as: Operational Research, MCDM/A (Multicriteria Decision Making and Aid), Risk, Reliability, Maintenance and Safety. Before taking up an academic career, he worked in civil construction as an engineer and a manager, including as a project manager, a quality standard (ISO 9001) manager and a building maintenance manager/planner.
